The Room
Kontakt does not announce itself. The space is warm, considered and quietly confident — deep blue tones, shelves lined with bottles from producers that someone clearly thought about before ordering, an open kitchen that becomes part of the atmosphere rather than a distraction from it. It is the kind of room that works equally well for a longer dinner or a late glass of wine. Warsaw has plenty of restaurants that try to create an identity through decoration. Kontakt does it through restraint.
The Food
The ceviche z krewetki is the surprise of the evening: bright, precise, properly acidic in the way that good ceviche should be, and not something you expect to find executed this well in Mokotów. It earns its place on the menu.
The ośmiornica is the stronger of the two seafood dishes. Tender without collapse, with enough char to give it structure and enough restraint in the preparation to let the quality of the ingredient speak. This is a kitchen that knows when to stop.
The kaszanka is the most interesting order and the most specifically Warsaw one. It is not a dish that travels well on a menu description, but the kitchen handles it with a seriousness that makes the case for why it deserves to be there. Rich, well-seasoned, grounded in something local. If you are not sure, order it.
The seasonal fish and seafood risotto closes the meal with the kind of dish that is easy to underestimate. The rice is cooked with patience, the seafood is properly sourced, and the whole thing holds together without becoming heavy. It is the quiet anchor of the menu.
The Wine
Kontakt holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, and the wine list is part of the reason why. The selection is genuinely considered, built around producers that reward curiosity rather than recognition. Ask the server for a recommendation. The answer will be better than whatever you were going to point at.
The Verdict
Kontakt is not trying to be the loudest restaurant in Warsaw, and that is exactly why it works. The ceviche and the ośmiornica are the essential orders. The kaszanka is the most memorable one. Come with time, order the risotto to finish, and let the wine list do some of the work. This is one of the more complete dining experiences in the city right now.

The wine list is half the meal. The kaszanka is the other half.
